Geant4, developed and maintained by the Geant4 Collaboration, is an open-source, object-oriented C++ toolkit for simulating the passage of particles through matter using Monte Carlo methods. It provides comprehensive models for electromagnetic, hadronic, optical, and decay processes across a wide energy range, along with flexible, configurable physics lists. Geant4 is widely used in high-energy and nuclear physics, space science, radiation protection, and medical physics for tasks such as detector design, shielding optimization, dosimetry, and radiotherapy planning. The toolkit offers precise geometry modeling, event and run management, accurate tracking in magnetic and electric fields, multi-threaded performance, and several visualization and analysis interfaces, including GDML support. It runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows and is distributed under the Geant4 Software License, with extensive documentation, example applications, and an active user community supporting its use.
Geant4 is developed by Geant4 Collaboration. The most popular version of this product among our users is 10.2.
